Behind the June 2024 Glam Bag Design
What’s bright, hot, and impossible to miss this summer? Why, it’s none other than June’s Glam Bag design. Inspired by sunny days and hot summers filled with bold and beautiful colors, designer Joanne Wong perfectly captures the feel of a sun-kissed season with high-impact hues—selected in honor of June’s Pride Month—in flexuous, Matisse-esque shapes that resemble succulents and sunflowers. It’s the perfect way to showcase the bag’s new neoprene material, which is a “lightweight, soft, and relaxing fabric [that] reminds me of a wetsuit,” says Wong.
The most challenging part of the bag’s design? The zipper. “I wanted to do something different and new to pair with the neoprene bag,” says Wong. “I started to think about summer outdoor bag materials, and I got inspired by nylon rope keychains you often see on backpacks and belt packs. I thought it would be a great new puller idea to give our Glam Bag a sporty summer look.”
We can see this bag looking stylish anywhere—from the tennis courts to the roller rinks—thanks to Wong’s playful and unbridled vision of summer fun. The designer’s ultimate goal was to mix versatility with utility to create a Glam Bag that would “match your summer festival and travel looks with ease.” To that, we say mission accomplished!
