Ten years ago, we set out to democratize the beauty industry. Our goal: Create a community that inspires everyone to express their unique beauty. A decade later, through the help of creators, we’ve spread our mission and are proud of the inclusive community we have become. But we weren’t done. We wanted to find the next generation of creators who are breaking barriers, dismantling beauty norms, and inspiring self-expression.

In a full circle moment, we’re celebrating our past while paving a way forward for our future. In honor of our 10-year anniversary, we sent out The Next 10 Casting Call. Two months, 20 contestants, and four social media challenges later, we finally have our winners. Introducing: IPSY’s The Next 10. These 10 creators have won paid contracts during 2022 and fully-expensed trips to NYC where we’ll crown the top creator who will take home $30,000. Excited yet? We know we are! Keep scrolling to meet The Next 10.

Introducing: The Next 10

Name: Anne BakerAge: 28Sign: CancerThe Best Beauty Advice I’ve Ever Received: Wear sunscreen and drink a lot of water. I look at makeup like something that I want to enhance my natural beauty, but keeping my skin underneath the makeup looking good is really what's most important. I try to apply sunscreen every day and drink around a gallon of water. When I started drinking more water, I noticed a huge difference in my hair, skin, and nails. It really works from the inside out.The First Content I Ever Posted: The first piece of beauty content that I ever posted was a before and after makeup photo of my sister on Instagram way back in July of 2015. It wasn't until January 2016 that I posted my first YouTube makeup tutorial on a Kate Hudson Golden Globes inspired look. It's crazy to think how far I have come since then. What Sets Me Apart: I think what sets me apart is my authenticity. I am exactly the same person that you see online as I am when you meet me in person. I think that comes across in my content, which gives me the ability to really connect with people. That's what social media is all about, after all!

Name: Allison DixonNickname: AlliAge: 24Sign: Cancer! A few hours away from being a Gemini. The Best Beauty Advice I’ve Ever Received: Start taking care of your skin at a young age. I started when I was 16, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Also, don’t stress about making brows look 100 percent even because they are not twins, they’re sisters. My uneven brows were thankful for that advice. How I Express My Unique Beauty: My unique beauty is effortless. I love wearing makeup, but most days I don’t because I love to embrace my texture, my dark spots, my uneven brows, my tiny lashes, and that’s beautiful because it makes Allison. No one looks like me, and that’s special! The First Video I Ever Posted: I posted an unblended smoky eye. I was so proud of it! Now I’m confident that I can do a mean smoky eye, but we all have to start somewhere. I’m really grateful for my journey.

Graphic image of Jessica Felder

Name: Jessica FelderNickname: YamagucciAge: 29Sign: SagittariusThe Best Beauty Advice I’ve Ever Received: Confidence is the best setting spray. What Sets Me Apart: A major thing that that sets me apart is the confidence that I exude in my content and in real life. I believe that my content makes people forget that I am even missing an eye, and it’s because I don’t allow my difference to make a difference. It’s tough to do certain looks, however I do not allow that to show in my content. Through my confidence, I want to send the message that my audience can do whatever they want to do, too, as long as they stand strong in it and believe in themselves.Where I Find Inspiration: I love to see the diversity in the beauty industry. Being that I have a visual difference, I’m inspired by seeing others push through the industry, and I love to see others inspired by me as well. That pushes me to keep going.

4. @thejackieflores

Graphic image of Jaqueline Flores

Name: Jaqueline FloresNickname: JackieAge: 24Sign: PiscesThe Best Beauty Advice I’ve Ever Received: Growing up Latina (proudly Mexican), I sometimes felt like I didn't quite fit in. I remember starting to use lots of makeup, and my grandma told me, "Don't hide behind the makeup, Jackie. You are so beautiful.” I always remember her advice, and I realize that I am not supposed to be like everyone else, and that isn't what beauty is about anyways. Instead, I now use beauty and makeup to enhance and embrace my unique features and my unique creativity, skills, and passion. How My Content Has Evolved: Since that first natural makeup YouTube video I posted, my journey has evolved into the true, authentic, and playful version of myself. I also spread my content into the Latin community, making my videos available in Spanish. That speaks to my authenticity and pride in being a Latina and making my content available for them to learn, be inspired, and express themselves as well.A Few Creators I Admire: The top creators I look up to have this in common: They broke down barriers and are authentically themselves. They don't conform to the typical influencer life and have never changed who they are regardless of their success. I admire iluvsarahii and Desi Perkins because of this. They push the boundaries and create fun content.

Graphic image of Carla Moran

Name: Carla MoranAge: 24Sign: TaurusThe Best Beauty Advice I’ve Ever Received: To never underestimate the power of a bold lipstick. I think many people are afraid of using bold colors when it comes to the lips. Makeup is all about having fun, and you can completely change a look and your mood depending on the lipstick you're wearing. The First Video I Ever Posted: The first YouTube video I ever posted was a GRWM with the song Shower by Becky G in the background. I was too afraid to speak in the video at that time. I didn't even know you were not supposed to use copyrighted music on YouTube (lol!). That video has since then been deleted of course, but I still love Becky G and that song! How My Content Has Evolved: I now have a beautiful connection with my subscribers, and I'm no longer afraid of speaking. In fact, my videos, stories, and all the content I share on Instagram is usually long-format because now I talk too much, haha. I love to explain in detail all of my makeup tips and tricks. My goal is that my followers and subscribers learn how to enhance their own beauty at the comfort of their homes.

Name: Edwin Martinez RodriguezNickname: GongiAge: 21Sign: Scorpio sun, Cancer moon, Cancer RisingThe Best Beauty Advice I’ve Ever Received: The best beauty advice I’ve received was from my warrior aunt who fought and lost her battle with stomach cancer. She was my inspiration and the person who introduced me to beauty. Her first piece of beauty advice to me was that beauty is within the soul, and makeup is just a tool that helps you tap into the power we all hold inside. My Desert-Island Beauty Product: ARTIST COUTURE Lip Oil. I would use that moisturizing lip oil not only for my lips, but also for my face, eyes, body, and food (the flavor is amazing haha!). If I’m going to be stranded on a deserted island, I might as well be moisturized and juicy! Cracked lips WHO?How I Express My Unique Beauty: I push the boundaries and standards of our current beauty community. The content I create isn’t what would be considered normal. It’s always an over the top edit or transformation. Coming from Puerto Rico, La Isla del Encanto, and growing up with so much culture and rumba, we never do average. Everything always needs some sazon or azucar to make it come alive! My beauty is vibrant, rich, and centered around my proud Latinx roots.

Name: Janie SeoAge: 31Sign: LibraMy Desert-Island Beauty Product: Eyebrow pencil! It frames my face, and I look put together instantly. I feel naked without my eyebrows. My natural eyebrows are too light, so it looks like I'm missing something if I don't fill them in.How I Express My Unique Beauty: I have monolids, which are not as common, especially in the beauty industry. I love embracing and expressing my unique eyes by rocking a winged eyeliner. I think monolids and almond shaped eyes look super fierce with them. I pop on a red lipstick and am ready to take on the day!The First Content I Ever Posted: It was actually a how-to monolid/hooded smoky eyeshadow video on YouTube. I remember I couldn’t find any videos back then, especially on how to apply eyeshadow.

Name: Fatima StarksAge: 29Sign: TaurusThe First Beauty Content I Posted: Omg! I believe it was a Reptar (Rugrats reference here, lol) eyeshadow tutorial on YouTube. How My Content Has Evolved: I’ve gotten better with my quality and being more informative. The best thing I did was listen to my audience. If you’re ever in a creative rut, ask your audience, because they’ll most definitely tell you what they want to see.Where I Find Inspiration: I find my inspiration through Black culture. Growing up my mom STAYED at the beauty shop every weekend, nails done, chains, clothing, and it’s really shaped my entire look. It’s beyond a vibe, it’s more of a lifestyle. So I like to reference that.

I find that expressing my full creativity and uniqueness empowers others to do the same. What Sets Me Apart: I don't just do one style of makeup. I try to get as creative and wild as I can to help inspire others to be their most authentic and loud selves.

Name: Michelle YariAge: 27Sign: VirgoMy Desert-Island Beauty Product: Moisturizer with SPF because, for me, skincare is the most important thing and being on a desert island is not going to prevent me from maintaining my beauty! The First Content I Ever Posted: My first beauty post was in 2015. It was a glam makeup look for the day, and OMG, how things have changed. How My Content Has Evolved: I started in a country, Venezuela, where the possibilities are nil. I did not have any tools or equipment for video and photography production, only a phone that could take photos. My makeup wasn’t even original because they weren’t sold in my country, but I happily put on makeup and posted my content. In 2016, I emigrated to this wonderful country, and with a lot of work and sacrifice, I was able to get more things. In my free time, I was always preparing and practicing to improve my techniques and the quality of content. Little by little, I see the small fruits of what I have worked so hard for. I am still practicing and hungry to improve day by day to offer my followers the best of myself.

If you really pay attention, you can get inspired by anything. Why I Am Competing In The Next 10: I want this opportunity to show smaller creators, like myself, that if you put in the work, anything is possible. This is such an amazing opportunity for anyone. I know smaller creators think it's unreachable because of the amount of likes or followers they have. Also, I am always representing my Hispanic community, so anything I can do to put them up and make them proud, I will.

I've since moved to LA and have been here for six years. My followers have been a part of my journey and growth. 6. @thelifeofclarissa

Graphic image of Clarissa Martinez
Graphic image of Clarissa Martinez

Name: Clarissa MartinezAge: 24Sign: AquariusWhere I Find Inspiration: I find my inspiration by looking at content across all platforms (Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok). I usually look at creators within my niche, but even if it's someone that posts about something totally out of my reach, I love the creativity behind it. I try to think of ways I can put my own spin on it.How My Content Has Evolved: In the beginning my confidence wasn't completely there since I was just starting out. I didn't get out of my comfort zone as much. I started focusing more on skincare, and since then have expanded to posting more about makeup, which has always been something I'm passionate about. Also, I've started a series called "Makeup and Motivate," which is something I am so excited about. It allows me to combine my two passions: encouraging others and makeup! Doing more video content has been so much fun, when I started I didn't really film much. What Sets Me Apart: When creating content, my goal is always to have someone walk away feeling better than when they came. So not only do I aim to teach people how to do a certain look or beauty tip, I also always incorporate encouragement or inspiration, so that they learn something new and leave feeling uplifted.

I really relate to her journey of creating bold colorful looks in the start of her career and how she’s evolved into this natural beauty. That’s me through and through. What Sets Me Apart: Honestly, I think we’re all passionate. We’re all here because we love this community and that connection with the audience. I have loved beauty since I was at the salon with my mom as a little girl, or going to the makeup counters at department stores with her. I feel like it’s in my DNA.

8. @deafmua

Graphic image of Marizol Piedra
Graphic image of Marizol Piedra

Name: Marizol PiedraAge: 36Sign: AquariusHow My Content Has Evolved: At the start of my channel, I didn’t use much American Sign Language (ASL) in my videos. A little later on, I realized that there were not many, if any, deaf creators that catered to the deaf community, my community. Now I breathe life into my videos by integrating my language, ASL, which is a beautiful language.Where I Find Inspiration: The simple beauty of the everyday: an amazing sunset, a conversation with my daughter on what she likes, my childhood memories, and the beautiful colors we see in nature are always inspirational. What Sets Me Apart: I’m not afraid of challenges and proving others’ perceptions of me wrong. I’ve had to live my entire life with people saying that because I’m deaf I can’t do the things they can, having them ask how can I drive if I’m deaf? Well.. I have my drivers license. It’s always a pleasure to prove that I can get things done, that I’m not afraid and I’m up for the challenge.

I love to do minimal looking skin with a more bold eye and/or lip.How My Content Has Evolved: I've stepped a little further out of my comfort zone and tried more shapes and colors. I also have been trying to make sure that my images and videos are better quality and closer up, so that you can really see what the makeup looks like up-close and in person. Why I Want To Be Part Of IPSY’s The Next 10: Beauty and makeup is a form of self expression for me, a kind of therapy.
