A Note From Our CEO: Black Lives Matter

We are in a moment in time where real fundamental change can happen in this world. Change that has been needed for decades. But it’s not enough to stand for change, we must stand to change.

We will not be complicit in our beliefs or our actions and have taken a pause to really listen and look at ourselves first. We know we need to speak up for what is right, to fight against injustice, and to break the norms, because Black Lives Matter, not only today, but every day.

IPSY has always stood for inclusion and diversity, and we have loudly championed self-expression. But we know we can do better. We need to do better. We must hold ourselves accountable and leverage our platform to champion Black voices and to support our Black community and are taking immediate action in the following ways:

  • We commit to investing $5M into the development and amplification of Black-owned beauty brands over the next year. We will identify and invest in the next-generation of Black beauty entrepreneurs by funding their product development and sampling efforts and building brand awareness through IPSY’s channels, creators, and 25M+ community. More on this to come in the weeks ahead.

  • We’ve donated to Race Forward to support their mission to advance racial justice through media, research, policy, and action, and will continue to drive awareness of their cause.

  • We will highlight more Black voices on our platform and increase representation across all of our marketing channels, including more Black-owned beauty brands and more shade tones in the Glam Bag, and through our commerce offerings.

  • We will be advocates for change and share resources to help our internal employees and our community educate themselves to be actively anti-racist and shift the discourse at a more individual level.

  • We will increase and hire more Black talent within our own company. It's not enough to amplify Black voices on our platform, we need to amplify them here at IPSY. We pledge to elevate talented Black employees and ensure we have more representation across all levels of our organization.

This list is not exhaustive, but it’s a starting point to begin the change. We are fully committed to ensuring that our efforts are ongoing and integrated into the fabric of our work, who we are, and what we stand for as a company.

Let’s stand together.
