While you might have a skincare regimen for treating dry skin, if you really want to ensure your concealer stays put, it’s crucial to reach for a concealer specifically formulated for your skin type. “Concealer generally gets cakey when it has a high powder content that aggressively absorbs the oils in your skin,” says Jenny Patinkin, a New York City-based makeup artist. Patinkin advises against only using a water-based eye cream because it can “evaporate over the course of the day.” When that happens, your eye concealer starts to sink into fine lines and creases.
