Now that we’re all about to be outside a heck of a lot more, it’s time to start checking in with your makeup and skincare drawer to see what SPF you have in stock and what you need to get more of. After all, dermatologists recommend that you wear SPF daily, even if you’re just running outside for a quick errand. The key, according to dermatologist Kenneth Mark, MD, is to find products that you actually like so you’ll be more inclined to use them.
There are tons of TikToks and articles popping up that say the SPF used in products like skin tints and BB creams isn’t substantial enough to provide sun protection on its own. Dr. Mark recommends looking at the ingredients to be sure. “As long as [products are] properly applied and reapplied [they are sufficient],” he says. However, you might not be too keen on reapplying skin tint when your full face of makeup is already on. That’s why it can be helpful to layer a non-greasy sunscreen on first under your makeup and then apply your SPF-packed skin tint for extra coverage. “Additionally, if the tint has zinc oxide or titanium dioxide in it, it will block the full spectrum. However, if it does not contain those ingredients, then it does not block the full spectrum, and if not uniformly applied, it would be an issue. Also, studies have shown when an SPF 15 is applied, it is often only a four.”
With that being said, the 12 products below can help you get in additional SPF when you need it. Here are our picks for the top makeup products with SPF in it that you can get right now.

We love this BB balm from DR. JART that seriously does it all. It’s a dream for those with combination skin who just want lightweight, buildable coverage.
I bet you’ve never seen an eye cream that can proudly say it has SPF in it. We’re absolutely obsessed with dabbing on this eye cream on our no-makeup makeup days.
