Huda Kattan is many things: a mother, a makeup artist, an international mogul, our November Glam Bag X curator, and most of all, the queen of makeup tutorials. Her YouTube channel (which has more than 4.4 million subscribers, btw) is jam-packed with countless beauty tutorials for every skin type and need, makeup aesthetic, and beauty hack imaginable. But all her videos have one theme in common: Empowering you to take beauty into your own hands. “There is no right or wrong way to express yourself,” says Huda. “As long as it makes you feel like the best version of you, I’m here for it.”

In honor of the upcoming Glam Bag x Huda, we tapped the multihyphenate to create one of her signature soft glam looks using products for her IPSY collection. “My Glam Bag X was designed to work for your entire routine from start to finish,” says Huda. “It has everything from the skincare you need to create the perfect canvas (a majorly underrated step, IMHO), to my must-have products to finish any look. And the best part is, you’re in charge.” Ready to see how Huda uses her Glam Bag X collection to feel her best? Keep scrolling for the step-by-step tutorial with her go-to products.

1. Create a smooth surface.

“Skincare is super important to create a good base for your makeup,” says Huda. All makeup, but especially foundation, will always sit better on a smooth surface, which is why Huda works the WISHFUL Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub (MSRP $39) into her routine once or twice a week. Apply a generous amount onto clean, dry skin, massage in circular motions, then rinse well.

2. Hydrate your skin.

The skincare prep doesn’t end with a twice weekly scrub. Right before she starts her makeup, Huda makes sure she’s adding a ton of hydration to her skin with the WISHFUL Honey Balm Jelly Moisturizer (MSRP $49). “It boosts my skin’s glow and leaves a dewy radiance,” she says.

3. Use a light base.

Before foundation, Huda goes in with a cream contour under her cheekbones and jawline and a bit along her hairline. Then right on top she adds her foundation. Here’s where the magic happens. “I dilute my foundation with a serum to make it a lot lighter and a lot more glowy,” says Huda. She mixes a pea-sized dollop of her foundation with a few drops of WISHFUL Thirst Trap Juice HA3 Peptide Serum (MSRP $47), blends it over her face with a foundation brush, then blends it out with a makeup sponge. “Make sure to use patting motions with your sponge so you don’t disrupt the contour underneath.”

4. Conceal and lift.

Because she keeps her base on the sheerer side, concealer is where she gets the coverage where she wants it: center of the chin, in between the eyebrows, down the bridge of the nose, and under the eyes. “I apply the HUDA BEAUTY The Overachiever Concealer (MSRP $30) under my eyes, pulling it down along the sides of my nose and out along my lower lash line,” says Huda. She also adds a line of concealer from the outside of her lower lash line toward her temple. “This creates a more lifted look and highlights your cheekbone at the same time.” Blend everything out with your makeup sponge. “If I need help blending everything even more, sometimes I go back in with my foundation brush,” she adds.

5. Powder where you need.

Now it’s time to set all those cream products with HUDA BEAUTY Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder in Sugar Cookie (MSRP $34). “It absorbs the shine in all the right places and keeps my makeup in place really well,” says Huda. “It also gives me a little blurring effect.” Once everything is set, this is when she also goes in with powder bronzer, blush, and highlighter to add even more dimension and lock in those creams products she used earlier.

6. Bring on the shadow.

All you need to recreate Huda’s shimmery eye is the HUDA BEAUTY Haze Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette in Khaki (MSRP $29). “I used a mix of the beautiful matte browns through my crease, then I added the gorgeous shimmer colors to my lids,” says Huda. “To get the highest impact shine from the duochrome shades (like the top right champagne color I used on my lids), apply it with your finger. To finish the shade, Huda used a matte brown and a small angled brush to create a smoked out liner. “You still get the definition and fun of winged liner, but it’s much softer,” she adds.

7. Amp up your lashes.

“HUDA BEAUTY Legit Lashes in Vanta Black (MSRP $27) is my favorite mascara in the entire world,” says Huda. “Starting with the volume side, I go as close as I can to my waterline and focus the product at the root of my lashes. Then take the lengthening side, and coat my lashes from the middle to the ends, pulling them outward.”

8. Paint your lips.

After lining her lips with a lip pencil to create the desired shape and dimension, Huda topped them off with the HUDA BEAUTY Diamond Lip Balm in Negligee (MSRP $25). “These sheer balms hydrate my lips and give them a little tint of color,” she says.

9. Set it all.

HUDA BEAUTY Glow Coco Hydrating Mist

No Huda Kattan makeup look is complete until you lock it in place with the HUDA BEAUTY Glow Coco Hydrating Mist (MSRP $35). Hold the bottle about six inches from your face, then mist it all over. It not only sets your makeup, but it also melts the product into your skin and gets rid of any powder-y finish. “It’s infused with coconut water, coconut oil, and coconut milk,” says Huda. “It has that skin trifecta of coconut and gives your skin a glow.”
